The visas were issued quickly, within 48 hours, without the players having to appear in person or have their fingerprints taken. However, the team is still waiting for visas to travel to the United States, where they will play three group stage matches, the first being against New Zealand on June 15 in Los Angeles. This delay has forced the team to change their training camp from Tucson, Arizona, to Tijuana, Mexico. Iran will depart for Spain on Saturday, before arriving in Mexico, where they are expected on Sunday. Before leaving, the team will play a friendly match against Mali on June 11 in Antalya, Turkey. In the group, Iran will also play against Belgium on June 21 and against Egypt on June 27 in Seattle.
