George Russell will start from pole position in the Sprint race of the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix, after achieving the best time in qualifying, 1:31.520.

His Mercedes teammate, Kimi Antonelli, will start from second place, just 0.289 seconds behind. Mercedes dominated qualifying, securing the top two spots without any drama. The reigning world champion, Lando Norris, finished third, 0.621 seconds behind Russell, followed by Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren). Title favorite Max Verstappen had a disappointing performance, finishing only in eighth place, with a significant delay of 1.734 seconds behind the leader.
