Formula 1 has announced the cancellation of the Grands Prix in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia due to the conflict situation in the Middle East. This decision will reduce the competition calendar for 2026 to 22 races, and there will be no replacement races in April. Stefano Domenicali, the president of F1, emphasized that although it was a difficult decision, it is the right one in the current context. The FIA Formula 2, FIA Formula 3, and F1 Academy events are also affected.
Bahrain International Circuit, the first track in the Middle East to host an F1 race in 2004, is renowned for its technical layout and the challenges it presents to drivers. Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, considered one of the most advanced circuits, is known for its unique architectural features and the spectacular season finale.
F1 hopes to return to these locations when circumstances allow.
