His first experience as a head coach was at Botafogo, where he achieved 15 wins, 10 draws, and 8 losses in five months. The president of Lille, Olivier Létang, praised Ancelotti's professionalism and vision, emphasizing that he has all the necessary qualities to develop the club's sports project. Lille finished third in Ligue 1 and will participate in the Champions League.
