The multiple swimming champion, David Popovici, qualified without any problems for the semifinals of the 100 m freestyle at the European Swimming Championships held in Paris.
On Tuesday, he managed to record the best time in the heats, 47.13 seconds, competing in the last heat. The second place was taken by the Croatian Jere Hribar, with a time of 47.80 seconds, while the third place went to the Spaniard Luca Hoek le Guenedal, with 47.90 seconds.
Additionally, two other Romanian swimmers, Eric Ștefan Andrieș and Patrick Sebastian Dinu, participated in the same event but did not qualify for the semifinals, with Dinu finishing in 27th place with 48.83 seconds, and Andrieș in 58th place with 49.79 seconds.
The semifinals are scheduled for this evening at 20:32, and the final will take place on Wednesday evening.
