Cosmin Contra, 49, was coach at Damac in the 2023/2024 season and had previous experience with Al-Ittihad. A former Romania national team coach between 2017 and 2019, Contra has also coached the likes of Petrolul Ploiești, Getafe, Guangzhou, Alcorcon and Dinamo. The announcement of his new contract with Al Kholood was published on the Saudi club's social media.
