CFR Cluj suffered a categorical defeat against Rapid, with a score of 3-1, in the third round of Liga 1. Following this match, the team from Gruia requested the postponement of the derby with U Cluj, initially scheduled for August 10, due to their involvement in European cups.
The Professional Football League approved the request from Cluj, and the match has been rescheduled for October 8. CFR Cluj is now preparing for the first leg duel with Tromso in the Conference League, which will take place in Norway.
This postponement gives the players more time to recover before the return match with Tromso, scheduled for August 13. The derby with U Cluj will take place after a break caused by the national teams' matches, with Romania having four matches during that period.
