The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has announced that it has completed the bid dossier for hosting the UEFA Europa League final in 2028 or 2029 at the National Arena in Bucharest. The bid has been actively supported by the Government of Romania and the Bucharest City Hall, aiming to strengthen the country's image as a destination for large-scale sporting events.
The dossier was sent to UEFA before the deadline of June 10, and the European body will analyze all bids and announce the host cities in September. Bucharest is competing with cities from France, Italy, Serbia, and Turkey to host the finals. The FRF believes that securing this event could become a reference organizational model for Romanian football, based on an integrated vision of football, community, business, and sustainability.
