The Aston Martin Formula 1 team has announced that drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll may have difficulties finishing the race on Sunday at the Australian Grand Prix due to strong vibrations generated by the Honda power unit. The team's director, Adrian Newey, explained that these vibrations are transmitted to the chassis and affect the drivers' hands, risking permanent nerve damage. Alonso estimates that he can only complete 25 laps, while Stroll can manage about 15, before risking medical issues.

The team has had a difficult preseason, being the slowest of the 11 teams, but Newey believes that the AMR26 car has the potential to be competitive. Alonso is looking forward to the practice sessions to assess the improvements made to the car, following reliability issues caused by a rushed design process and recent technical adaptations.
