The former heavyweight world champion, Anthony Joshua, was discharged on Wednesday from a hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, after being admitted following a tragic car accident in which two of his friends died. The accident occurred on Monday morning on the highway connecting Lagos to Ibadan, when Joshua's car exceeded the speed limit and hit a stationary truck.

Spokespersons for the Ogun and Lagos states stated that Anthony Joshua has been declared medically fit, but he feels saddened by the loss of the two friends. The 36-year-old boxer was on vacation in Nigeria, his parents' homeland. Recently, he achieved a notable victory against YouTuber Jake Paul, challenging Tyson Fury for a future showdown.
