The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, ranked number two in the world, qualified for the quarter-finals of the US Open after defeating the Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 7-6 (7/3), 6-3, 6-4. Alcaraz will play in the quarter-finals against the Czech Jiri Lehecka.
Novak Djokovic, ranked seventh among the seeds, defeated the German Jan-Lennard Struff (144 ATP) after one hour and 49 minutes, with a score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-2. In the quarter-finals, Djokovic will face the American Taylor Fritz.
