2055 Moldovans from the diaspora voted by mail, a first for the Republic of Moldova, with the envelopes being opened after the polling stations closed.

The Republic of Moldova has implemented for the first time voting by mail for citizens from the diaspora, with 2,055 envelopes received by the deadline. The most votes came from the USA, followed by Canada and Sweden. The envelopes will be opened only after the polling stations close. Additionally, 2,472 applications were accepted, but 417 voters whose applications for voting by mail were accepted did not vote.
