The defendant acknowledged his actions and cooperated with the authorities, which allowed him to avoid the maximum penalty. In the spring of this year, the man transported alpha-PVP type drugs, known as "sare", through the customs post in Briceni, bringing in almost 12 kilograms in two trips. The authorities conducted searches and confiscated the drugs, which will be destroyed. Additionally, the defendant was ordered to pay 155,000 lei, the estimated cost of the vehicle used for transport.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova is working to strengthen legislation to combat drug trafficking, which remains a major challenge for the country, with over 900 criminal cases registered this year.
