Three men, aged 21, 23, and 31, were detained by the police for 72 hours, being investigated for drug trafficking in the territory of the Republic of Moldova. They were bringing prohibited substances through package carriers from Europe. The police conducted searches after a three-month monitoring, discovering a package with metal containers camouflaged as fruit cans, which contained three kilograms of mephedrone.
The packages were transported by a bus through the Leușeni-Albița customs point. Following a coordinated action with the "Fulger" police, the suspects were apprehended while picking up another package, which contained six kilograms of mephedrone. In total, nine kilograms of drugs were confiscated, with an estimated value of over six million lei. The three men face up to 15 years in prison according to the current legislation.
