Three people, two young men aged 23 and 25, and a 49-year-old woman, were detained by the police in Bălți, being suspected of involvement in an organized criminal group specialized in fraud. According to the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP), a victim was contacted by phone by the suspects who presented themselves as representatives of state institutions, misleading her and causing her to transfer a total amount of 500 thousand lei in three installments for a false situation. The money was collected by the suspects in the city of Bălți. Following the investigations, part of the amount was recovered. Authorities continue the investigations to identify other possible victims of this criminal group.
