The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova announced that the denunciation of the Agreement on the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) regarding visa-free travel will not affect the current travel regime between Chișinău and Moscow, as there is a separate bilateral agreement that will remain in force. This denunciation, which only concerns Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, will be subject to Government approval on November 12, before being sent to Parliament. Additionally, the Moldovan authorities intend to withdraw from other CIS agreements, including those related to chemistry and ecology. On another note, the European Union has suspended the issuance of multiple-entry visas for Russian citizens, for security reasons, following the deterioration of the security situation in the context of the war in Ukraine. Only certain categories of Russian citizens will be able to obtain multiple-entry visas if they meet specific conditions.
