The authorities in Moldova have dismantled a group specialized in car smuggling, following 15 searches carried out in the localities of Edineț, Anenii Noi, and Ialoveni. Fourteen cars, valued at four million lei, which were allegedly stolen from France, have been discovered. Two members of the group, a citizen from Azerbaijan and a man from Anenii Noi, have been arrested. Among the confiscated vehicles are Mercedes Sprinter vans, Renault, Citroen, Peugeot, and Ford, some of which are internationally wanted. Additionally, sales-purchase documents and sums of money were seized. Recently, other vehicles linked to the same scheme have also been identified. Investigations continue to trace the responsibility of all individuals involved.
