On September 3, 2025, a serious road accident occurred in the locality of Dămideni, Botoșani County, involving a Volvo car from Moldova and a minibus. Three Moldovan citizens died, while two others were seriously injured and transported to the hospital. Romanian authorities activated the Red Intervention Plan, and another 15 people were transported to the UPU Botoșani for care. The plan was deactivated at 09:40.
