On the night of September 2, a loud explosion was heard near the border between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, while Ukrainian authorities announced an air alert.
The Border Police reported that, around 02:36, the patrol from the Tudora Border Police Sector heard a noise similar to a rocket, followed by an explosion at 02:38. Although no overflight of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova was recorded, the patrols conducted initial checks but did not find any suspicious objects. Later, at 07:10, metal and plastic fragments, as well as a burned patch of land, were discovered about six kilometers from the border. Authorities continue to investigate the origin of these fragments and monitor the situation in collaboration with Ukrainian authorities.
