The National Police of the Republic of Moldova has announced the blocking of 443 TikTok channels, with 1.2 million followers, for disseminating disinformation. These channels promote false information about Moldova's fictitious involvement in the war in Ukraine and election fraud. So far, 59 out of 98 channels spreading false information about the war and 7 out of 12 channels promoting false theories about the elections have been blocked. Disinformation is seen as a serious threat to national stability and measures to combat it are a priority for the authorities ahead of the 2025 parliamentary elections.
