Maia Sandu, the president of the Republic of Moldova, stated that she respects the provisions of the Constitution and will not run for a new term, emphasizing that it is important to maintain democracy. In an interview, she dismissed speculation regarding a possible candidacy for the presidency of Romania, arguing that Romania already has a good president and that she can contribute to Moldova's development from other positions.

According to the Constitution, Maia Sandu cannot run for a new term, having already served two consecutive terms. She emphasized the importance of electing a leader who can build solid foreign relations and keep Moldova on the international agenda, leaving the choice to the citizens.
