The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, emphasized that the country is at a stage where it needs to start negotiations with the European Union, but this process is blocked due to Hungary's refusal to advance in its relationship with Ukraine. Sandu stated that Moldova is aware of the necessary reforms, regardless of the official opening of the process.

She mentioned the importance of adjusting the legal framework to European standards and emphasized that the authorities need to address the immediate problems of citizens, despite the economic uncertainty generated by the war in Ukraine. Sandu expressed hope that both countries will be able to advance in the integration process, according to the meritocratic principles established by the European Union.
