Maia Sandu, the president of the Republic of Moldova, declared on Wednesday that several recent abuses in public institutions have affected citizens' trust. During a press conference, she presented a package of measures for reforming the way leadership positions are appointed and managing state enterprises.

Maia Sandu stated that the scandal at MoldATSA, which involved exaggerated salaries and hiring without competition, generated a justified reaction from society.

Among the proposed measures are the verification of the integrity of candidates for public positions, the review of the boards of directors of state enterprises, and increasing transparency in the management of public funds.

Additionally, the president emphasized that no one should evade responsibility for abuses and that all unjustly obtained amounts must be returned to the state.
