Igor Grosu was re-elected as president of the Parliament during a secret voting session, obtaining 55 votes from PAS deputies, while his opponent, Alexandr Stoianoglo, proposed by the Alternativa bloc, received 32 votes. The vote took place in the Parliament hall, where deputies voted in voting booths.
Grosu emphasized the importance of focusing on economic development and attracting investments. Although the Our Party and the Home Democracy boycotted the vote, Grosu was invited to present himself at the podium, where he offered flowers to Zinaida Greceanîi, who chaired the meeting. Going forward, Grosu will convene the leaders of the factions to set the agenda for the next meeting, where the vice-presidents of the Parliament will be elected and parliamentary committees will be formed.
