The 'Eugen Doga' International Airport in Chişinău celebrated reaching the milestone of five million served passengers, an event marked by the arrival of passenger number 5,000,000, a woman who came from Frankfurt to surprise her grandmother. The Ministry of Infrastructure emphasized that this record, achieved by 2025, reflects investments in modernizing the infrastructure and expanding the network of destinations.

The airport administrator, Sergiu Spoială, stated that this achievement symbolizes the growth of the airport together with the community. The airport returned to state management in 2023, and the authorities promise upgrades to improve services. The airport is now ranked among the most efficient in Europe, with an increased number of airlines, from 20 in 2022 to 33 in 2024.
