Passengers and employees of Chisinau’s “Eugen Doga” International Airport were evacuated this afternoon after the authorities received a bomb threat. As a precautionary measure, passenger check-in was suspended, and people inside the terminal were evacuated from the building.
Border police intervened to evacuate the terminal and requested support from the specialized units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The specialized teams are expected to carry out checks to determine whether the threat is confirmed and whether there is any danger to passengers, employees or the airport infrastructure.
Check-in operations remain suspended until the checks are completed. The authorities warn that the situation may cause changes or delays to flight schedules.
Travelers with flights scheduled for today are advised to check the status of their flights in real time on the airport’s online departures board and follow official announcements. The airport and the authorities have not yet specified who issued the threat or whether it is genuine.
