Mihai Mîțu, Secretary General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in Chișinău since 2022, will take over the position of ambassador in Romania. Mîțu has extensive experience, having previously held positions as chief of protocol at the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova and consul in the USA.
Victor Chirilă, the current ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Romania since November 2021, will take up the post of ambassador in Ukraine.
Additionally, President Maia Sandu has signed decrees for the appointment of other ambassadors, including Vladislav Kulminski in Mexico and Viorel Ursu in Iceland, Norway, and Finland. Lorina Bălteanu will become ambassador in France, and Petru Frunze in China. Ștefan Gorda and Corina Călugăru have been recalled from their positions as ambassadors in Kazakhstan and France, respectively.
