Smuggling stopped at the border: Gold, currency, and undeclared goods confiscated by Moldovan customs.

A 67-year-old foreign citizen was caught at Chișinău airport, trying to fly to Istanbul with ten gold ingots in his carry-on luggage. According to the Border Police, the items were discovered during the security check, and the passenger was left without them and risks legal penalties.

In another incident, customs officers detected a 46-year-old woman carrying 28,450 euros undeclared on the Chișinău - Vienna route. Additionally, another 63-year-old foreign citizen was caught with 300 packs of undeclared tobacco products while attempting to fly to Tel Aviv.

Authorities emphasize that undeclared goods and financial amounts must be reported, according to the legislation, and failure to comply with these rules can lead to confiscations and penalties.
