Victor Ponta, present as an "observer" at the decisive moment in PSD

Former Prime Minister Victor Ponta made a surprise appearance at the event organized by the Social Democratic Party in the Palace of Parliament, where the withdrawal of political support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan is being decided. Although he was expelled from the party in 2025, Ponta stayed in the hall for a few minutes, without actively participating in the discussions.

He explained that he came as a deputy and "observer," motivated by the importance of the decisions for Romania, while also emphasizing that he remains emotionally attached to the PSD. The event, called "The Moment of Truth," brings together thousands of party members who are set to vote on whether to withdraw political support for the Prime Minister, in a tense context on the political scene.
