The leader of the USR deputies, Diana Stoica, announced that the party will submit a draft resolution to ban gambling halls in Bucharest, as part of the 'Without Slot Machines' initiative. She emphasizes that these halls represent a serious addiction, with a high associated suicide rate.
Diana Stoica highlighted that near the location of the press conference there are six gambling halls and several educational institutions, which creates a dangerous environment for the community. Deputy Radu Mihaiu added that these spaces are among the most dangerous socializing places and that banning them could reduce the attraction to gambling. The project will be subject to public debate for 30 days, and USR will seek the support of the majority in the General Council of Bucharest Municipality to approve it.
