The designated Prime Minister Eugen Tomac declared on Tuesday that the AUR party is acting in favor of Russia's interests through the threats addressed to President Nicușor Dan regarding his suspension from office. Tomac emphasized that Russia desires an unstable Romania, highlighting the need for responsible actions in the current context.
AUR previously threatened to initiate proceedings for the suspension of Nicușor Dan if he does not convene parliamentary parties for consultations after the dismissal of the Bolojan Government. George Simion, the president of AUR, asked his followers on Facebook for their opinion regarding the suspension of the president, stating that the solution to the crisis is not Tomac, but early elections.
Petrișor Peiu, AUR leader, added that any potential deviations by Nicușor Dan should be politically sanctioned. The procedure for suspending the president can be initiated by one-third of the parliamentarians, followed by a referendum.
