The draft state budget law for 2026 was debated on Tuesday in the joint budget-finance committees.

The draft state budget law for the year 2026 is being discussed on Tuesday in the joint budget-finance committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, where parliamentarians will prepare reports for each budgetary authority.

The discussions began before 9:00 AM and will continue throughout the day.

According to Agerpres, the joint parliamentary budget-finance committees approved, on Tuesday, the budget of the High Court of Cassation and Justice for 2026 and that of the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR).

The chairpersons of the budget committees requested that the debates take place exclusively with physical presence, emphasizing the complexity of the budget laws.

The joint plenary session for debating the projects will start on Wednesday and will continue on Thursday, when the final vote will take place. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan mentioned that the budget is built in a difficult economic context, with the objectives of reducing the deficit, maintaining investments, and streamlining public administration.
