Romania’s budget for 2027 will be the first to be drawn up entirely in digital format, through the Budget NG (Next Generation) application, Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare announced on Tuesday at the launch of the “Barometer of Entrepreneurs Building Romania” by NewMoney/INSCOP. The new platform is expected to increase transparency and enable more precise analyses of how public funds are allocated and spent.
The minister specified that budgetary operations carried out throughout the year will also be managed in the same application. Budget NG was developed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and was completed on August 31.
Authorized personnel from the ministries have already begun submitting data to the system. In the coming period, the authorities are expected to establish a timetable for preparing the 2027 budget, which will be submitted to the prime minister.
Nazare warned that entering the data could be more difficult, as some plans will need to be justified, but stressed that the new system will provide a much clearer picture of how public funds are spent.
