The military aircraft Spartan used by President Nicușor Dan for external trips has recently been modernized, now having permanent and extended communications during flight, according to official sources. This update comes after, in January, the president faced communication difficulties at the airport in Paris due to adverse weather conditions. The Ministry of National Defense conducted a communication test on the Spartan aircraft to verify the safety of the internet connectivity equipment during flight. The equipment was installed by the Special Telecommunications Service, and the test results await confirmation from the manufacturer.
Nicușor Dan used the aircraft to attend the European Council meeting in Cyprus, where he emphasized the importance of an ambitious EU budget and a fair distribution of funds to support the economies of member states. Additionally, the institutions of the European Union signed a joint declaration to strengthen the European single market by 2027.
