The integrity law, a milestone in the PNRR, was rejected on Thursday by the Senate, in its capacity as the decision-making body, after an amendment introduced by the PSD in the final stage caused controversy. The modification could even lead to the loss of the mayoral mandate of Dominic Fritz, who has been definitively declared in a conflict of interest. The project must be submitted again and voted on in the extraordinary session next week, and Romania risks losing 770 million euros from the PNRR if the law is not adopted by August 31.
