Vlad Gheorghe, advisor to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, sent a letter to Hungarian political leader Péter Magyar, requesting an investigation into the use of public funds allocated by the Hungarian state for 'investments' in Hungarian communities in Romania. Gheorghe expressed suspicions that some of these funds may have been redirected towards political influence networks and pro-Viktor Orbán propaganda. In his Facebook post, he emphasized that this is not just about money, but about political influence built with public resources on Romanian territory.
The advisor called for the identification of the real beneficiaries and cooperation between the authorities in Romania, Hungary, and European structures to investigate these financial flows. Gheorghe stressed that cleaning up this system is a European issue, not just one for Hungary, and requested verification of how the money was spent and tracking the networks created by the old regime.
