The interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that the new salary law will not be sent to Parliament until a consensus is reached in the Health and Education sectors, where negotiations with the unions are ongoing. Pîslaru estimates that the discussions will last approximately two weeks, and a final form could be ready by mid-August.

The minister emphasized that the Government is not ready to assume the project due to existing social tensions and misinformation. He assured that the current incomes of employees will not decrease, thanks to a protection mechanism included in the law.

Approximately two-thirds of employees in health care are expected to benefit from salary increases, and solutions are being sought for on-call and shift work to avoid affecting incomes. The dialogue with the unions focuses on clarifying how bonuses are granted based on specialties.
