The Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, decided to notify the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) after several television stations and publications attributed a false statement to him. He emphasized that the quote "it is a matter of time until we see war" is a "blatant falsehood" and a dangerous manipulation, intended to create panic and fuel Russian propaganda.

Moșteanu mentioned that, in the recent context of the NATO Forum for the defense industry held in Bucharest, Romania is not at war and benefits from NATO protection. He called on responsible media not to become a vehicle for propaganda and emphasized that the spread of fake news is a form of moral betrayal.
