The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced on Saturday the extension of the period during which municipalities and county councils can request loans through the State Treasury, until December 31, 2025. This measure aims to support local authorities in completing European projects from the PNRR and ensuring the financing of heating services. An additional ceiling of 250 million lei has been introduced for heating, to cover outstanding bills and losses from the supply of thermal agent, thus ensuring the heating of the population during the cold season of 2025-2026. Loans are granted under favorable conditions, with a reduced interest rate and a flexible repayment period. The government has approved an emergency ordinance to respond to the requests of local communities, maintaining the total loan limit at 1.5 billion lei, with an unallocated availability of approximately 650 million lei.
