The government will adopt a draft decision for the allocation of additional funds from the budget reserve fund, intended for the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, to manage the water flow from the Danube, which affects the nuclear power plant in Cernavodă.

So far, 7 million lei have been allocated for works aimed at increasing the level of the Danube. Recently, the water level in the Cernavodă area has risen by 4 centimeters, following the controlled sinking of barges, an operation that led to a total increase of 8 centimeters. The government has also adopted measures to limit the energy consumption of large companies, in the context of a state of alert in the energy sector.

Reactor 1 of the plant was shut down two weeks ago, while reactor 2 remains connected to the National Energy System. Car manufacturers Dacia and Ford have suspended their production for maintenance work.
