The state budget for the year 2026 will be sent to Parliament next week, after it is adopted in the Government meeting. Political sources indicate that the allocations for the solidarity package requested by the PSD will be only half of the requested amounts. The social democrats accuse Ilie Bolojan of intending to cut local investments in half compared to 2025, claiming that he prioritizes funding for the General City Hall of the Capital, led by the liberal Ciucu, to the detriment of local authorities.
The governing coalition discussed maintaining budget allocations for the social package at the level of the previous year, with additional resources from European funds. Additionally, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will benefit from significant budget increases, while the Ministries of Education, Labor, Transport, Health, and Development will have reduced budgets compared to 2025. The PSD believes that its proposals to prioritize investments in communities are justified and necessary, criticizing the lack of response from the Prime Minister.
