The simple motion initiated by AUR against the Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, was rejected by the Senate, with 28 votes 'for' and 65 'against'. AUR criticized the ministry's lack of concern for investments in railway infrastructure, accusing it of ongoing disinterest.
In response, Ciprian Șerban highlighted the ministry's achievements, mentioning the attraction of over 10 billion euros from European funds for railway projects. He emphasized the reopening of the Bucharest-Giurgiu section after 19 years, the modernization of over 1,000 kilometers of railway, as well as the acquisition of over 200 electric trains. Șerban stated that Romania is in a favorable period for railway infrastructure, with significant investments underway. He also emphasized the need for a consistent budget for the next year to continue these projects.
