The S.O.S. România Party announced that it will not participate in the consultations convened by President Nicușor Dan at Cotroceni Palace on September 17, 2026, to designate the prime minister. The party maintains that its leader, Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă, is in Strasbourg, while the party’s statutes provide that only the president may lead official delegations.
The announcement was sent to the Presidential Administration before the meeting scheduled for 12:00. Party representatives stated that the invitation had been received “from one day to the next,” which, in their view, did not allow for the organization of a delegation led by the party’s president.
S.O.S. România expressed its willingness to participate in discussions the following week, when Diana Șoșoacă is expected to be present in the country. President Nicușor Dan invited all parliamentary parties and representatives of parliamentary groups to consultations as part of the efforts to nominate the future prime minister.
