The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, declared on Monday that he requested data regarding the collection of CASS for the months of September and October, concerning mothers and veterans, in order to assess the effectiveness of the fiscal measures.

Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, urgently requested data regarding the collection of the CASS contribution for the months of September and October, focusing on the recently taxed categories, such as mothers, veterans, former political prisoners, and monastic staff. He wants to verify the effectiveness of the implemented fiscal measures and their impact on the state budget. Grindeanu mentioned that, in September, only 130,000 lei were collected from mothers, an amount considered very small.

The PSD leader warned that if the fiscal measures did not have real effects on the budget, the Government must revise them. He emphasized that PSD will support policy changes if it is proven that they have generated inequalities. Recent data shows discrepancies in CASS collection, with only 154,000 lei collected for child-rearing allowances, in contrast to the significant revenues from taxing large pensions, which increased 11 times in September. The Minister of Labor stated that the pension tax is temporary and will be reevaluated in 2026, depending on budget revenues.
