The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, was caught by HotNews reporters while rehearsing the speech for the meeting where social democrats will decide whether to withdraw political support for Ilie Bolojan.

According to the recording, Grindeanu is set to ask for forgiveness from Romanians and entrepreneurs for diluting the leftist identity of PSD in the last 10 months, mentioning that the party has been associated with austerity and budget cuts.

He states in his backstage speech that maintaining the current government is a form of betrayal of PSD values and called for a clear decision regarding the future of the alliance.

As soon as he noticed the presence of the reporter, Grindeanu stopped rehearsing and left the room.

Approximately 5,000 PSD members will vote this evening, and party leaders expect the majority to support the withdrawal of support for Bolojan, considering the dissatisfaction expressed by mayors and ordinary members.
