The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, confirmed on Wednesday that the offices of the Ministry of Health were sealed during the searches conducted as part of Operation Jupiter, which targets an investigation by the General Prosecutor's Office. This investigation examines 12 individuals suspected of fraudulently obtaining specialist medical certificates, claiming that they completed their residency training in the Republic of Moldova while being employed in Romania.
Rogobete emphasized that if any individuals in the ministry are found guilty, they will be dismissed. The main issue is the recognition of training periods outside the European Union, where there is no verification system similar to that in the EU. The investigation includes accusations of forgery, falsification of official documents, and the unauthorized practice of a profession.
