Romeo-Daniel Lungu, proposed for the position of Minister of Development in the Veștea Government, received a negative opinion from the specialized committees, with 18 votes in favor, 18 against, 2 abstentions, and 8 present who did not vote.

To obtain a positive opinion, Lungu would have needed 22 favorable votes. Although the opinion is consultative, it will go to Parliament for the investiture vote. USR and PNL voted against the appointment, while PSD supported it, and AUR opted for abstention.

Among Lungu's priorities are the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and administrative reform, which he considers essential.

He highlighted the staff deficit at institutions such as the State Inspectorate in Construction and the Consumer Protection Office, emphasizing the need for additional hiring.

The government proposed by Adrian Veștea will be subject to the investiture vote on Monday evening.
