The Romanian Ambassador to the USA, Andrei Muraru, stated that President Nicușor Dan will be one of the first five speakers at the Peace Council meeting in Washington, initiated by Donald Trump, where Romania has an observer role. Muraru emphasized that Romania's presence is relevant, being the only head of state from a NATO and EU country that will participate. He highlighted the importance of this participation for regional security, in the context of discussions about the reconstruction of Gaza and the stabilization of the Middle East.

The ambassador stated that Romania does not break European solidarity, but rather protects its interests through coordination and active participation. The White House appreciated Nicușor Dan's decision, considering it rational and courageous, and emphasized Romania's contribution to international efforts.
