Ioana Dogioiu, the spokesperson for the Government, announced that Romania will apply international sanctions against Lukoil in solidarity. By next week, a draft ordinance will be developed to establish a general mechanism for managing similar situations. A working group coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is addressing this issue. The Minister of Economy, Radu Miruță, emphasized that Lukoil has a debt to the Romanian state, and recovering it is essential.
Additionally, the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, assured that Romania has sufficient resources of diesel and gasoline, so there is no justification for an increase in prices following the sanctions. Work is underway on a regulatory act that will comply with international and national legislation, limiting the negative impact on the population and Lukoil employees.
