The President of Romania discussed the importance of support for Ukraine during the meeting in Helsinki, mentioning NATO programs and the European Union dedicated to the eastern flank. He emphasized that support must include financial resources for the continuation of the war effort and security guarantees for the post-conflict period.

Although he is pessimistic about Russia's intentions to achieve a quick peace, the president stated that Romania must be prepared to provide Ukraine with all the necessary mechanisms for negotiations. He highlighted the need to support Ukraine in maintaining the front line and to arm itself to deter any future aggression.
